Founded in 1960. AMAPLAST, a nonprofit Association, now represents over 160 important companies, Italian plastics and rubber machinery, ancillary equipment and moulds manufacturers. AMAPLAST’s main aim is to promote worldwide the knowledge and circulation of the Italian plastics and rubber processing technologies that are at the top of the world market in terms of production and export. Since the beginning of the Fifties, the Italian manufacturers have been offering a complete range of original, reliable and innovative machines.
Through its commercial company PROMAPLAST srl, the Association publishes the bimonthly technical magazine MACPLAS, with a total circulation of 7,000 copies in Italy, besides the internet version MACPLAS ONLINE (www.macplas.it) and the bi-weekly newsletter MACPLAS E-NEWS.
Moreover, PROMAPLAST srl organizes, every three years the international exhibitions PLAST in Milan, of which the nineteenth edition is scheduled from May 4-7, 2021. The latest staging of PLAST (held from May, 29 – June 1, 2018) attracted more than 63,000 visitors as well as 1,510 exhibitors.
Finally, AMAPLAST, on behalf of UNI (Italian Institute for Standardization), runs the Technical Committee CEN/TC 145 (www.amaplast.org/en/pagine/documenti/norme_tecniche.aspx) which draws up European safety standards for plastics and rubber machinery. Moreover, it manages the Presidency of the Technical Committee ISO 270 “Plastics and rubber machines”, created on December 13, 2012, that releases international standards on machinery safety.
